Annual Leave provides you with paid time off from your job for personal reasons including: vacation, outside activities, scheduled medical appointments, and personal business. If your absence is due to an illness or injury, you should refer to the Sick Leave page.
VMware provides all regular employees with twenty-five (25) paid working days per calendar year.
You can carry forward up to twenty-five (25) unused Annual Leave days per calendar year. Annual Leave that is carried forward must be used within the two (2) years following the year in which it was originally granted. Any Annual Leave taken is off-set from your oldest entitlement.
VMware only permits the chasing out of unused Annual Leave when you resign or cease to be employed for any reason (eg. due to disability etc), at which time the full accumulated/outstanding leave entitlement is paid out.
Scheduling Annual Leave
- Discuss your Annual Leave plans in advance with your manager. If an absence is unexpected, you should notify your manager as soon as possible. While business requirements must be taken into consideration, your manager will work with you to ensure that work load does not restrict you from taking Annual Leave.
- Once agreed with your manager enter your Annual Leave time off in Workday [VMware network access required] under time off type Vacation Time Off (Days).
